Well, then, how about this? There's a sequel, Time Stands Still is when the CP actually (sort of) happens, and is every bit a hilarious and awkward and full of crossed wires and random Torchwood-style craziness as, despite themselves, Jack and Ianto figure out how to live with each other.

Comment: Ianto is remarkable for many reasons, but one thing that has always stood out in the minds of many fans is how easily he was able to con his way into a position in Torchwood Three- as well as a position in Jack's life. He conned the con-man, and that takes skills. This fic is wonderful because it not only showcases those skills, but Jack's reactions to watching someone else succumb to them.

This is one of the best TW stories I've ever read, it has everything. Action/Adventure, romance, retcon, an awesome plot and guh. Just guh. I love Jack and Ianto's relationship in this, I especially loved how the author wrote Jack. An Ianto who has lost 4 years of his life, he's so different from nornal Ianto! *_* And it's interesting how not a lot of things bother him. :D

Sub machine guns rat-tat-tatted and gunned the aliens down instantly. Some of the bullets ripped through the door and hit the wall around Gwen. Comment or Excerpt from fic: Well, this fic is one HECK of a roller-coaster ride! Having watched only the last two episodes of DW so far, I must admit that this fic can be made into actual cross-over episodes should anyone consider it! It's fast-pased and exciting and we meet characters that were lost to us again and that just made be cry others that just made me want to maim them... BUT! It's a marvelously written fic and very complex and so very exciting!

But at times, I was forced to wonder how multiple paradoxes didn't occur since characters... *coughJackcough* DO cross their parallel selves... ^^;; But even so, a MUST READ!

Comment or Excerpt from fic: Well, now this is a truly brilliant, BRILLIANT fic! It's one of the very few stories I read that has Ianto and Jack meet at Torchwood 1 before the whole Torchwood series. It's an AU fic that disregards the battle at Canary Wharf and the deaths of Jack's original team at Torchwood 3. The first meeting between our Jack and Ianto takes place when Jack is temporarily recruited to work on a highly specialized project called Project Hades with one Ianto Jones. The first meeting start with a BANG (literally) and sparks fly! This is such an addictive fic, one I want to read and read and wish the author would just post the whole damn story in it's entirety so I can keep reading!

She narrows her eyes... and inherently Jack knows he doesn’t like her. He trusts her, but he doesn’t like her...

Jack doesn’t understand what she means. Or perhaps he does, but his mind hasn’t come to terms with it yet...

“Jones,” she says sharply, “kill him.”

Neither a flicker of protest nor a murmur of question when the man, no, boy... moves, and for a fraction of a second as the gun is raised and the trigger squeezed, their eyes connect and Jack feels something. But there’s no time to figure out if it’s anger, fear or even betrayal before the bullet shatters his skull.
