“You had the evening off, Gwen.” Ianto answers with another one of those blank looks. He turns to go but pauses. “You’re lucky to have a life outside of Torchwood.” Ianto says, twisting his head around without looking at her, and retreats back into Jack’s office.

Gwen fidgets and then grabs the files, heading down to the archives with a mind to have a word with Jack about this later. She glances at the first file on top and stops, leaning against the file cabinet.

Comment or Excerpt from fic: First time I rec, I don't know what to write here, but this fic is absolutely  brilliant in dealing with one issue that TW never did which is Jack's experience and consequences for his one year with the Master; how that changed him as well as his relationship with Ianto, and then there's Ianto experience. Ok I'm useless  for comments, but it's a must read. I don't think I give away too much in the excerpt because it happens early on but your are free not to read it (the excerpt)
