Comment or Excerpt from fic: Oh Ria's got another fic cooking! ^___^ So, post-"Exit Wounds" and John's joined the team along with another character (OC). But after a field mission gone bad, Jack realizes that there is no other choice but to hire a medic, in turn replacing Owen's place at Torchwood. But just when they are getting back on track, things turn from bad to worse for Ianto when more than one tragedy hits his family and his carefully built, fragile walls crumble around him.

EXCERPT:

Jack shook his head as he watched Gwen and John supporting Ianto into the autopsy bay. From what he had gathered, while he had gone out to... capture a rogue Weevil... Ianto and Gwen had been called out to answer a call... It had sounded like a relatively simple job... A simple clean-up operation. Unfortunately, the intelligence they had received had not been entirely accurate... and... one Blowfish had quickly become five, two of which were severely intoxicated... and, just to make things even better, they had been taking hostages.

Luckily, John had been at the Hub on standby and had been able to get to them fairly quickly once had had learned the gravity of the situation... but... If those aliens had killed anyone...if they had hurt Ianto any more than he already was...just the thought made Jack shudder in anger. But... what the incident had also done was bring home an important truth - something that Jack knew he had been putting off for far too long.

"There are four new ones - Aaron, Eifion, Sir George, and Fatima... and... There's more going on besides the sheep disappearing..."

"What's going on?"

"There are noises at night. Howling and sobbing. I check the dogs and they're all asleep. Brenna and Elin are asleep and still it continues." Marc pressed his lips together. "I swore I actually saw one of Elin's ghosts the other night. It was wearing this Victorian looking dress and wandering through the living room."

"You want Ianto and I to take a look? See what we can find?" asked Jack cautiously.

"Just be aware it's going on," Marc said quietly.

“What is it?” Jack asked… sensing his lover would need the support.

“There was an accident – I’m not really sure what happened, they…”

Jack grabbed a t-shirt and pair of jeans… “… your shoes are by the door, I’ll drive.”

“You don’t-“

Jack stopped, his hand pressed to Ianto’s bare chest… “I am. Let’s go.”

Ianto didn’t reply, they grabbed their jackets to fend off the cool October air, and were out of the flat within moments. “St. Agnes’ A&E”
