This deals with Ianto path on self-destruction post "EoD" and other dark themes (rape). As such, I strongly suggest you READ THE WARNINGS BEFORE you proceed with reading the fic, even if the content is not graphically descriptive.

He was aware of tears falling down his face... scalding his cheeks. He looked to the side and saw nothing. Emptiness... just as it had been for the last two months. It had been a dream nothing more. Jack was gone... abandoned him and the team... left as if they didn’t matter. As if what they’d shared meant nothing... Ianto gave a half sob... arms curing round himself. He thought of the last kiss... It had been so tender, so caring Ianto almost wished it hadn’t happened... he’d stupidly believed here might be something more, something deeper...

He... glanced at the picture... took a deep breath and placing a soft kiss on the image, he whispered bitterly, ”A bad dream...” he gave a harsh laugh, shaking his head, “I’m sorry Jack but that’s all you are now. A dream…a dream that warms my soul and breaks my heart…a dream that’s becoming a nightmare….”

He wiped his face roughly and... With a deep breath he... made a decision. It was time to move on.
