Rating: PG-13
Summary: Hm... Jack has impeccable timing? :P
Status: COMPLETE
Word Count: ~ 2,700

Gwen didn't know what to make of this anymore. Jack and Ianto were behaving very unusual lately. First she had put it on the anniversary of the deaths of Tosh and Owen... but... Two weeks after the ceremony, Gwen was almost sure that Jack and Ianto's odd behaviour wasn't due to grief... She guessed they might have had a fight, but the subtle touches and stolen kisses every now and then negated that idea. They were treating each other like always but it was when they were not together that their demeanour changed. Jack would sit in his office and stare at the far wall, pretending to do paperwork... The same with Ianto... She caught the young man staring at the coffee machine while his hand were operating it, filling a mug until it flowed over and the coffee spilled all over the floor.

"Ianto!" Gwen jumped next to her colleague and pulled his hand from the lever, having him look at her utterly confused... "What's wrong Ianto?... Are you okay, sweetheart? You can talk to me, if something is bothering you... Does this have anything to do with Jack? Did you two have a fight?" For split second she thought there was something like shock flickering over Ianto's face and it worried her to no end. "Did he hurt you? If he has done anything, you know you can talk to me. I..."

"He's done nothing, Gwen," Ianto quickly cut in... catching himself just in time not to roll his eyes. Gwen had never been one to give up easily, but this wasn't anything she could help him with. He wasn't even sure why he was acting like he had been... Well, to be honest with himself he knew exactly what the reason for his behaviour was. There was something burning in him he wanted to ask Jack, he just hadn't found the courage to confront Jack with it yet. And that was the problem, he didn't know if he would ever talk to Jack about this. They had grazed the topic once or twice, but Ianto still didn't know where Jack was standing. But he was behaving strangely as well? Ianto hadn’t noticed that. Hopefully the Captain hadn’t picked up on his brooding and was suspecting anything.

Title: Domestic News
Rating: PG-13
Summary: I've got news for you...
Status: COMPLETE
Word Count: ~ 3,600

~*~*~*~*~

It took Jack a few days to make the connection. At first he had blamed the leftovers of the Chinese takeaway. He had had no idea how long they had been in the fridge, but he was hungry after chasing a Weevil through the sewers. The next day he had suffered the consequences and started the day with his head in the toilet. Ianto had been at his side and was half soothing him, half chiding him for eating probably spoiled food...

Ianto had put him back to bed and... for once Jack had complied, feeling utterly exhausted. He had been asleep as soon as his head had hit the pillow... But... in the early afternoon... everything had seemed to go back to normal... Until the next day…that had started exactly like the day before with Jack's head in the toilet. Now Ianto had been seriously worried and had ordered Jack to stay at home and in bed.

"If this doesn’t get any better, you will go and see a doctor!" With his hands on his hips and a stern look, Ianto had stood next to the bed and had glowered down at the miserable figure that had peered up at him... Jack grumbled something incomprehensible... and... half an hour later... His stomach was still giving him hell and he felt so damn tired. But instead of... drifting off to sleep, he rolled onto his back and stared at the ceiling. A long forgotten memory had pushed itself into the foreground and Jack sighed heavily.

It couldn’t be, could it?

Pressing both his hands on his belly, Jack felt the heat emanating from it as well as light tremors.

It could just be gas. Or a stomach flu. Or still that damn takeaway.

Jack screwed his eyes shut... Taking a few deep breaths to fight the nausea back, Jack threw the duvet off and glared at his offending stomach.

Only one way to find out.

Grabbing his wrist strap from the bedside table... pressed a few buttons before holding it over his belly. It took only a few seconds before he heard a low beep and he pulled his hand back, letting it drop to the mattress, still holding the wrist strap.

“Come on Jack, don’t be such a wimp!” He chided himself while still staring at the ceiling. When he finally gathered enough courage, he brought his hand back up and squinted at the tiny display of his Vortex Manipulator. “Oh crap.”

Title: Domestic Christmas 2009
Rating: PG
Summary: Just a small conversation under the Christmas tree :)

Word Count: ~ 1,500

Ianto shook his head, smiling. Jack seemed to be distracted once again, his mind in another world. If Jack didn't pick up on his coffee offer, he definitely was lost in his thoughts again. That happened quite a lot since they found out about him being pregnant three months ago. Taking his lover's mumbled reply as a yes, though, Ianto continued his way to the kitchen and prepared two mugs of his special blend.

When he stepped into the living room a few minutes later, he stopped at the sight of Jack, a smile spreading over his face. The older man was standing in front of their Christmas tree, staring into the chaos of pine needles, tinsel and already draped ornaments, while both his hands were stroking circles over his belly.

Ianto put the mugs down on the dining table and slowly stepped behind Jack, snaking his arms around the other man's waist, cradling the steadily moving hands in his own. After pressing a kiss on the base of Jack's neck, he put his chin on his lover's shoulder, his thumbs gently caressing the now stilled hands and the belly beneath.

Ianto smiled and hugged the small form of his daughter to his chest... Grabbing Katie under the arms, Ianto swept her into the air and caught her again before climbing up the stairs with the giggling and squirming toddler in his arms.

Jack watched them leave and felt his heart swell for the millionth time since he had found the courage and asked Ianto to be his civil partner. It had been a year after Tosh and Owen had died and they had become extremely close over the course of that year. So much had happened and they had supported each other and found strength in their partnership. It had been a surprise for both of them when Jack had become pregnant with their twins shortly after their ceremony. That was four years ago and Jack wouldn't want to miss one second of it.

Ianto... pushed the key into the lock and opened the door, closing his eyes a moment when warm air hit his face. He stepped in quickly and closed the door when he heard excited voices filtering into the hallway from the kitchen. Ianto felt himself relax even more... especially when his nose picked up the sweet scent that wafted through the house. Quickly shedding his jacket and shoes he padded over to the kitchen, following the smell that was getting stronger.

When he pushed the door open, he needed a moment to decide if he should just laugh or have a stroke. The kitchen looked like a war zone and his family was sitting right in the middle of it... a smile spread over Ianto's face as he watched Josh and Katie almost clamber onto the table to cut out the cookies... Jack looked equally excited and was just wiping his hands on his pants, leaving white streaks on the already flour smeared fabric.

Josh and Katie presented a similar flour covered picture. In fact the whole kitchen was slightly dusted in flour, giving it a very snowy feeling.

Crossing his arms in front of his chest, Ianto cleared his throat once before speaking in a bittersweet tone. "Hi honey, I'm home." Jack's shocked expression paired with the nervous gulp was almost enough to placate Ianto, but only almost. "Having fun?"

Jack just gaped at him... standing rather tense next to the kitchen table, worry clearly etched into his features.

Jack looked up when he heard the excited voices of his children echo through the Hub. A moment later, the two toddlers shot into his office and threw themselves at him. Laughing loudly, he just managed to catch them both and pull them into a hug. However, it was only a short-lived embrace as Katie started to struggle and wriggled out of her father’s arms.

“Hello squirts... What’s up?”

... “Dad, can we go to the fun fair?” Both kids managed to ask in chorus and gave Jack a hard time not to laugh.

The Captain glanced at Ianto... and smiled when his partner nodded at him encouragingly. “Well, as you have asked so nicely… But!... we won’t go ice skating... We can go on the Ferris Wheel instead. Tad loves that.” Jack grinned mischievously at Ianto who looked shocked... Ianto straightened up... and fixed Jack with a glare. “You know I don’t like heights and besides, I don’t have time to go to the fun fair. I need to finish…”

“Aw, come on Yanyo, this will be fun! You and me and the kids. Maybe I’ll even cuddle you close when we’re up on the Ferris wheel.” Jack interrupted his lover and stood up to saunter over to Ianto, snaking his arms around the young man’s waist who was looking annoyed at him, arms crossed in front of his chest...

Ianto sighed and rolled his eyes. He knew he would end up with three kids at the fun fair...

Title: Domestic New Year's Eve 2014
Rating: NC-17
Summary: The bright lights signalled another year had ended and new one was just about to start.
Status: COMPLETE
Word Count: ~ 2,600

~*~*~*~*~

The cold winter breeze blew into the underground base when the stone at the top shifted and made way for the lift. Jack and Ianto waited for a moment before they stepped from the platform as it came to a halt and looked around carefully. It wouldn’t do if someone saw them appearing seemingly out of thin air. But the people were all engrossed in the fireworks that cast bright lights in every colour over the city.

Josh and Katie stared open mouthed at the sky and for once stayed completely silent, taking in the raining lights... it didn’t take long before curiosity and fascination won over and the kids stared up at the sky again, now squealing in delight each time a particular big explosion scattered lights all over the sky.

Ianto smiled at his kids’ enthusiasm and admired the different patterns that were illuminating the night sky. The bright lights signalled another year had ended and new one was just about to start. They left 365 days full of usual Torchwood excitement behind. Luckily no major catastrophe had marked this year and Ianto hoped the same for the next.

Josh and Katie would be starting school in a few days and a part of Ianto was sad to see them grow up so fast, but another part was thankful that he could witness them growing up. Thankful that he was still around. When he glanced over at Jack, he found his lover looking at him and he knew Jack was thinking the same.
