Title: The End is From Where We Begin, the Beginning is Where We End
Summary: Jack comes back from a two year long mission to find Torchwood closed and many bridges in need of rebuilding. At the same time a corpse is found and Ianto's past comes back to haunt him, all signaling the end of the world.

It was twelve months, three weeks and five days since the Hub had been closed... The place had been abandoned... That was until the twenty-first hour of the fifth day of the third week of the twelfth month... The computer... started to blink. It had been nearly two years since there had been any disturbance...
The blinking blue light turned to a flashing red one which... was entirely eclipsed by the beam of light... from the centre of the Hub, the... light of the Rift. Through that little gap in the universe... stepped a man, swaggering back into reality and the 21st century, greatcoat flapping dramatically behind him. Little did this man know that as he stepped through the gateway he’d created moments before hand that he’d just breathed new life into the part of the Rift which had been lying dormant since before the universe was created.
The drive to the end of days had been put in motion.

‘We are permitted to only in the most desperate of circumstances... In this case it is allowed- once we receive your permission of course.’
‘It says here that at the time in question he hadn’t even committed the crime yet!... I cannot possibly allow this... no... Arrest him after the crime has taken place.’
‘I’m afraid that would be against the rules of the... Agency... Both the new and the old factions... We have pinpointed the only point in history where it is possible to take him from without causing a major paradox. If there were a chance to arrest him after the fact it would be taken. We do not take time travel lightly.’
... The older man sighed dejectedly before inputting his code... ‘Okay... But... handle this personally...’
‘Of course- I was already taking a personal interest in this case... everything will run smoothly. Jack Harkness will be brought to justice.’
