Ianto stood in the archives, staring at the small black device in his hands. He had already flipped open the lid. The blue flashing numbers were casting an eerie glow, illuminating his conflicted features.

He was scared. The risks that were involved in time-travel were huge... But nothing worth having was ever easy. And Tosh had worked so hard... Tosh had said she would go back in time... see her ancestors... to learn from them and their achievements... Ianto said he would go forward... see if the world... was... worth it, if the people were worth it. They both knew exactly whom it was he wanted to see, but neither of them mentioned him.

Ianto brushed away a stray tear... Tosh had been brave and strong. She hadn’t been able to get her wish, but he could do this one last thing for her. He wasn’t going to let the last bit of her brilliance go to waste.

Comment or Excerpt from fic: Oh anduria_trianys just hits a few of my kinks with this fic... *starry eyed* As much as I adore mythology of any kind, I've first been introduced to Greek and I'm a fanatic in that sense! Anyway, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the rift has been acting crazy and been sending Janto through space and time. As the summary states, their latest trip brings them to Ancient Greece in the 10th year of the Trojan War. Being in a time and place where one doesn't belong puts them in a precarious position as is, but knowing what will happen, will Jack and Ianto let events occur in their natural order or will they attempt to chance events, inadvertently changing history as they know it, consequences and paradoxes be damned?

He smiled as he recalled the little sojourn to Rome – the reign of Hadrian... Although, now he came to think about it... Ianto’s eyes widened in concern and he stared...

Jack frowned. “We seem to be in the middle of the sea... but... then, I suppose the right question isn’t ‘Where are we?’ but ‘When are we?’ Because you’re right; this is not Rome – and those over there look to me like they could be Greek ships.”

... together they swam towards the shore... several tents and campfires came into view, all set up beside the ships. But what they saw as they came closer were several large wood pyres, some of them still smoking.

“My God!” exclaimed Jack. “Just – when are we?”

Comment or Excerpt from fic: Well, this fic is one HECK of a roller-coaster ride! Having watched only the last two episodes of DW so far, I must admit that this fic can be made into actual cross-over episodes should anyone consider it! It's fast-pased and exciting and we meet characters that were lost to us again and that just made be cry others that just made me want to maim them... BUT! It's a marvelously written fic and very complex and so very exciting!

But at times, I was forced to wonder how multiple paradoxes didn't occur since characters... *coughJackcough* DO cross their parallel selves... ^^;; But even so, a MUST READ!

Comment or Excerpt from fic: Oh this is one of THE most heartbreaking fics I've ever read! It's written in a totally different element, very fantasy-like and very different from any other fantasy~esque Torchwood fics I've ever read. Because of the topic, I was expecting the story to take place in dreamscape because of the fantasy feel, but I was proven wrong... by more than a mile and my heart just broke even more. Very heartwrenching piece where Jack and Ianto are forced apart by out-worldly circumstances.

It had finally occurred, Ianto thought, Jack and Gwen were finally together…they were a couple. It had taken probably the twentieth near death experience, (though Ianto wasn’t counting) for Jack to say I love you to Gwen and now they were together. Gwen struggled at first accepting it, but Ianto knew she couldn’t and wouldn’t fight it and a few weeks later she broke off her engagement with Rhys. Ianto wondered if he should give Rhys a call, they almost died together and now they had another thing in common.

Ianto wasn’t hurt, if anyone asked him that's what he would say, though he was disappointed. It was Gwen who told him, Jack was too much of a coward to do it himself and to some extent Ianto understood that…he understood Jack.

He was right.

Jack shut the door to Ianto’s flat at precisely 12.01 officially the next day. Padding across the dark flat, Jack felt awful. He felt as if he’d cheated on Ianto, which was stupid since he hadn’t. Not technically...

Jack felt exhausted - emotional women weren’t really his strong point but what made he feel even worse was the fact that Ianto had been so understanding. The way Ianto had been so reasonable about Jack disappearing so suddenly from his bed and then standing him up at both lunch and dinner. Jack sighed and leaning against the doorframe, stared into the bedroom... smiled slowly as he realised Ianto had very deliberately left Jack’s side of the bed clear... The fact Ianto was rolled so tightly in the cover and on the verge of falling off his side of the bed, showed to Jack far more than words could ever say.
