Comment or Excerpt from fic: Well, consider this the "missing scene" between TW 2x01 and 2x02, I guess. I'm sure at one point or another, we ALL wanted to know just how Janto resolved... err... STARTED on the path to resolving their infinite number of issues...

Anyway, I have a thing for vulnerable!Jack and protective!Ianto, so I've got both in here along with all the missing stuff! ^^

“You all seem a lot closer,” remarked Jack...

“Of course we’ve become close!” snapped Ianto... “... if we hadn’t we’d all probably all be dead right now.” Ianto caught the visible flinch Jack gave and... added in a softer tone, “I’m sorry...”

“You don’t have to apologise,” murmured Jack... genuinely upset, “I’ve no right to make such flippant comments anyway. Not now…”

By the time they reached Ianto’s flat, the silence between them was deafening. Ianto hesitated... Without looking... he said softly, ”You don’t have to come in if you don’t want to...”

“I want to come in!” said jack almost too quickly. There was a slight note of desperation in his voice that made Ianto jerk his head up...

Looking across Ianto saw a look he’d never seen on jack before – nervous apprehension.
