Title: The Man in the Suit
Author:
andromeda05
Genre: AU~esque, Cross-over, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Romance
Rating: PG-13
Other/Implied Pairings: N/A
Summary: The Doctor stepped into the bedroom, surprised to see the door open, even more surprised to see the figure curled up on the bed.
Status: COMPLETE
Length: One-shot
Word Count: ~ 1,681
Warnings: Spoilers for Doctor Who 3x13 "Last of the time Lords," Post-Torchwood 1x13 "End of Days," implied: Character Death, Torture, Violence
Comment or Excerpt from fic: This is another take on how Jack's return from the "Year That Never Was" should've been/could've been. It shows that part of Jack that he hides, a vulnerable Jack that needs Ianto to put him back together...
This fic is as angsty as it's beautiful and slight Doctor (Ten)-bashing, if you want to call it that; it's actually more along the lines of "Doctor needs to realize the damage he's done"...

EXCERPT:
The Doctor was honestly surprised to find the door to her room open a crack. Not quite sure what he’d find, the Doctor felt both his hearts break at the sight of his beloved Captain. Jack lay on the bed, curled up in a fetal position sleeping soundly...
... there were tear tracks drying on his cheeks, and somehow, even in his sleep tears were still leaking onto her pillow creating a wet spot. Jack looked old, when the Doctor had met him so long ago; Jack had been young, vibrant and foolish. This man was experienced, hurt, and probably even depressed. This wasn’t the Jack he’d once known. The Doctor wasn’t even sure he knew this man anymore—probably not.
