Comment or Excerpt from fic: Omg, taking place after Season 1 finale but before Season 2, Ianto meets Jack from where he was traveling with the Doctor and Rose, and present Jack is still traveling with the Doctor. :3

"Have you got any money?" Rose inquired, hastily finishing off her tea and going into the TARDIS to leave the cup behind.

"Of course I have!" the Doctor said indignantly.

"Legal tender for the 21st century?" Jack pressed. He grinned and shook his head when the Doctor hesitated. "Hang on while I go and get some from the treasury and collect my coat."

Laughing and teasing the Doctor over his inability to steer the TARDIS, they moved off in the direction of Mermaid Quay. None of them noticed the tall quiet man standing in the shadow of the Millennium Centre. None of them realised how intently he watched them.
