Title: Message in a Bottle
Author:
the9thdoctor &
leofuller (
plotbunniesinc)
Genre: AU, Angst, General, Romance
Rating: PG-15
Other/Implied Pairings: OMC/OFC, implied past Jack/OFC
Summary: Nobody has seen or heard from Torchwood Four for more than twenty years, until a message arrives in Cardiff…
Status: COMPLETE
Length: Multi-chapter / 11 TOTAL + Jack's Letter (set during Chapter 7)
Word Count: ~ 31,472
Warnings: Set in early S2 of Torchwood
Comment or Excerpt from fic: I like this particular fic cuz it's a different sort-of story. I mean, we all know of an existence of Torchwood 4, but with it being MIA, we don't see many, if any, stories with it's interaction with our beloved Torchwood 3 in Cardiff, so I enjoyed this.
And how unsurprising is it that one of Jack's former exes works in TW 4? *snorts in amusement*

“We’re definitely in the Wormhole. The good news is that we’re still right at the edge, and we don’t seem to be moving any further in. I reckon that as soon as the Wormhole finishes the transition, we will be able to get out again. We might be in England, but we’ll get out...”
“There’s an angle we hadn’t considered.” Andy shut the door to Siobhan’s office behind him. Siobhan looked up from the print-outs she was reading.
“We have no idea if time in the Wormhole passes at the same rate as time outside. Just because transition is instant from our perspective, it doesn’t mean it’s instant from in here. We could be here for a long time.” They stared at one another in horror, until there was a knock on the door...
“Ok...” he groaned, sitting up, ignoring Ianto's hand. “Who threw what at me and why?”
... Ianto peered into the rift pool. “That.” he said, pointing at a small bottle bobbing in the water.
“But where did it come from?” asked Owen, joining him at the edge of the walkway and rubbing the back of his head.
“At a guess? The Rift.” said Jack, folding his arms...
“It’s in pretty good condition for an old bottle.” Ianto picked it out of the water. “There’s something in it...”
“No. There’s a piece of paper in it. Message in a bottle.”
