"So let me get this straight." Jack said, and you could see him visibly holding on to his temper, even Ianto had taken a step away from him. "Not only did you not manage to get the scanner for me. You have instead bought; a miniature model of the Mir space station, a seventy two piece morphogenic dinner service set, some watches which, by the way, are supposed to be worn on abdominal tentacles that you do not have, and some space themed fridge magnets."
Gwen still looked a little shell shocked, even now.
"I don't know what happened, I didn't see any scanners but they started...talking, offering me things, and they sounded good at the time, why did they sound good at the time?" Her voice had wavered into something that seemed to want to careen off into quiet hysteria, so Jack laid a hand on her back...stopped her with a smile, before the wheels came off.
"Ok, ok, was anyone else watching?"
"I was watching," Owen admitted. "Have you seen some of the stuff that goes on sale after 2 in the morning. I'd wager less than half of it is actually from earth. If I'd had an extra six grand I could have bought an invisibility shield." Tosh made a squeaky noise.
