Title: Loving Jack
Author:
dramaticscarf
Genre: Fluff, Romance, General
Rating: R
Other/Implied Pairings: briefly implied past Ianto/Lisa
Summary: Loving Jack is a bit like diving into a swimming pool.
Status: COMPLETE
Length: One-shot
Word Count: ~ 1,139
Warnings: spoilers for Torchwood S1 through S2
Comment or Excerpt from fic: Sarah's (
dramaticscarf) Horizons Sing challenge #2. From Ianto's POV, this fic is so beautiful, an EXCELLENT use of the prompt by taking it as a metaphor! I felt all melty... or floaty... ^__________________________^

EXCERPT:
Loving Jack is a bit like diving into a swimming pool. There’s the long climb up the ladder and you’re not sure you can handle the height. Then there are the few uneasy bounces on the diving board and you know in your head that you take an extra to put off the fall. Then there’s the jump and the fall; those are the hardest parts because there’s always a twinge of uncertainty in any type of fall. Then there’s the moment when you’re body makes contact with water and that little feeling of accomplishment flows through you as you push the water out of your way. You did it; you’re doing it. You’re loving him. And when you emerge, gasping for air, you know he’s loving you back.
