Comment or Excerpt from fic: I can't believe I didn't rec this fic before! U.U Canon upto TW 1x04 "Cyberwoman" and then it's takes a whole another turn centered on Ianto and in turn, his relationship with Jack. Most likely a crap explanation, but the fic's a MUST READ!!

EXCERPT:

Ianto Jones began his fascination with time at an early age... It all really began with his mam. She was forever telling him to count things and she taught him many of life’s important lessons in this way...

It was only a fortnight after that conversation that his tad was killed by a hit and run driver. Ianto thought it a bit odd that instead of staying around for the funeral his mam insisted that they pack all their essential belongings... and depart... that very afternoon. That evening found them... in a... single room in the B&B. Ianto had never seen her look so pale before... sparkle... gone out of her eyes... her body... stiff and unyielding...

When he woke up the next morning she was gone. Only one of the suitcases was left; the one with Ianto’s things in it. There was in addition, a small package wrapped in brown paper tied with string and a letter addressed to him in his mam’s handwriting. The rest of the room was as empty as his heart.
