Comment or Excerpt from fic: This series follows the relationship of Jack and Ianto as it evolves throughout the series. It's beautifully written, very poignant with the emotions evolving along with the relationship. At times, the emotions are very raw and dark and makes you cringe and weep, but it's so realistic that it leaves you in awe! *starry-eyed*

Title: Dear Lisa
Rating: R
Summary: Dear Lisa, this morning I woke up inside the Captain's hatch.
Word Count: ~ 4,885

~*~*~*~*~

Waking up on strange places brought him bad memories... Alcohol, drugs, people with extremely doubtful peculiarities of character. That had pretty much been his adolescence, not so long ago. But Ianto felt like he had grown ten years in five. When he got into his suit, tightened the knot of his tie, and checked his hair before leaving his flat, Ianto was someone responsible and mature. The voice of reason inside Torchwood, even though he had only been there for three weeks. They were all technology addicted and modernity freaks after walking through the cog door. Their humanity and old fashioned traditions were left somewhere outside and Ianto doubted they ever even remembered to pick it up...

Jack was the exception... Ianto was pretty good at reading people, all he knew about the others had pretty much been concluded from his private observations... But Jack... Jack he couldn't figure out.

Title: Of Butterflies and Hurricanes
Rating: NC-17
Summary: 'Jack was either 8 or 80; fire or cold ice; the solution or the problem; he was one or the other and he was everything at the same time. And Ianto was just human. Just fucking human.'
Word Count: ~ 11,165

~*~*~*~*~

Ianto wasn’t even sure why the fuck he cared so much. He wasn’t into a relationship with Jack... didn’t want one... his devotion to Lisa and their cause hadn’t decreased... But his... involvement with the team and, unfortunately... the boss had increased to dangerous levels. He couldn’t take Jack’s charity work performance any more... Getting laid to apologize like Ianto had been the one in need of forgiveness, killing himself to scare the hell out of him like Ianto wished for his death... then walking out on him? What the hell was wrong with that man?... Ianto was so fucking tired of taking on Jack’s jackness, and all this after only four and a half months... Jack was either 8 or 80; fire or cold ice; the solution or the problem; he was one or the other and he was everything at the same time. And Ianto was just human. Just fucking human...

Fuck Jack. Fuck Jack and his jackness.

Title: Two Beds and a Coffee Machine
Rating: NC-17
Summary: 'His ghosts were haunting him. His fears were taking over. He needed to be dragged back to Earth, to reality and into the safety of being alive and needed. He needed to reassert his reasons for living, and right now Jack was the closest to a reason he had. Jack forgave him and allowed him an excuse to continue. He was meant to follow his every order, to trust his every word, to forgive his every flaw, because Jack had forgiven him, even though he did not deserve to be forgiven.'
Word Count: ~ 7,828

~*~*~*~*~

“Why, Jack?... Why do you forgive us? ... fight for us? ... sacrifice yourself... if you know we’re not worth it?”

Forgiveness was something not up to Jack to decide. How could he ever be responsible for forgiveness when the one who needed forgiveness the most was himself? “I never said it wasn’t worth it... I wasn’t... always willing to die for the sake of Earth, or... protect... people from whatever... But, along the way, I’ve met some people... worth fighting for. They’ve turned Earth... more respectable to me, somewhere I should try to preserve... I do it for them. My painful first breaths are all for them.” He paused for a moment... They... made him realize his eternity had to be worth something... “I do it for you. All of you,” he completed.

“Why did you forgive me?” Ianto snapped back at him, almost abruptly, demanding...

Instead of explaining... he summed it up into five small words. “Because I believed in you...”

Title: In Loving Memory
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Jack has saved the last dance for Ianto.
Word Count: ~ 7,261

~*~*~*~*~

Jack smiled... Ianto always wore his admiration for Jack bright and clear. What he didn’t know, perhaps, was the admiration was actually mutual... And liking Ianto as much as Jack seemed to... was... Extremely sad... Jack knew what happened to people who fell in love with him. None of them had ended up happy, and... a very disturbing high... had ended up dead. He did not wish that same destiny to Torchwood’s coffee boy. He cared too much for that. On the other hand... he had been waiting for the day he’d decide to follow a different path for over a hundred years... the day he’d want to have someone else, someone different, for almost a year. Neither one had ever come... Jack... also knew he had been changing from the day he stepped on Earth for good...

Jack closed his eyes again, letting the... tranquility of the moment over take him... This time, however... He was in 2007, dancing to a song... considered... old fashioned, with his receptionist. Archivist. Coffee maker. Lover. Ianto Jones. In his office... his Hub, the closest thing to a home he could remember having in over a hundred years of existence. A shame Ianto could not see the smile... on his lips. It was a private smile, meant only for himself and he smiled because he suddenly felt and knew, there was nowhere else he wanted to be.

Title: The Inevitable Consequence of You
Rating: NC-17
Summary: The ticket to paradise is Ianto in RAF uniform.
Word Count: ~ 8,920

~*~*~*~*~

It was amazing how much you could actually miss things you didn’t even know you liked so much. Just turn it into something rare and one would immediately start to feel it as a crazy necessity. He was good at romance, but dates had never been one of his all time favorites. Dates were pretty useless, really... You had dates when you wanted to get to know someone, when you had objectives and plans. Not when you were looking for someone to fuck. Not when you knew it would most likely lead to nowhere...

Ianto was a bit different in that aspect. Jack was indebted to him and a date was his way to ease things between them. Having someone throwing accusations and demanding explanations was easy to deal with; someone giving you shy smiles and empty words, in a lame act of pretending to be fine was a different matter. Ianto was not ok, and Jack was not trying to buy him with a date. He just wanted things to go back to normal. He wanted Ianto to know he was still himself, despite the time and the lack of justification. Ianto could still trust him, could still be honest and definitely did not have to feel embarrassed in his presence. It was more than mere search for a partner... it was about getting the confidence of one of his employees back. It was easy to deal with the other three... Ianto, on the other hand, was unreadable when he wanted to be. Jack might have lost him and wouldn’t even know... and... a bit of normality would be of no harm... A year of... constant, painful deaths and a moment of desperation had been too much... His mind didn’t deal with the constant adrenalin rushes and desperation... things weren’t that much fun all the time anymore. Normality had never been more welcome. Normality was good. Italian food, good restaurant, Ianto in a suit and a nice conversation had never sounded more perfect to Jack Harkness. It was a cherry on the top of his ice cream.

... And so they were out, to a magnificent, exquisite and delightful night of the finest pure normality... It had been a good night. A good, old Jack and Ianto night, except they spent it in a restaurant, something they had never done before. It was a nice change. And then Ianto was back to being Ianto, and Jack was more than grateful for that.
