Title: What About Me?
Author:
805belladonna
Genre: Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Drama
Rating: PG-13
Other/Implied Pairings: Jack/Gwen, Rhys/Gwen, implied past Ianto/Lisa
Summary: The aftermath of the argument in Meat.
Status: Work In Progress
Length: Multi-chapter / ?? TOTAL
Word Count: TBC
Warnings: references to: Torchwood 2x03 "To The Last Man," 2x04 "Meat," & post 2x04 "Meat," some Violence
Comment or Excerpt from fic: Well, this fic is based on that scene from "Meat" which, after watching, we felt like smacking... no... more like bitch-slapping Jack. I'm sure it's no new thing for me to complain about the leeway that Jack gives to Gwen over everyone else...
Anyway, this is angst-central with more hurt than comfort with not even a minute speck of romance (so far, anyway), so if you're looking for warm fuzzies and making-up, this is NOT for you.

EXCERPT:
Ianto kicked his door closed... Leaning back... It had been an awful day... But what had really hurt had been the confrontation between Jack and Gwen... when Ianto had realised Jack cared far more for Gwen than he had ever realised. The look of pure rejection on Jack’s face when Gwen... choose Rhys over Torchwood (which Ianto knew really meant Jack) and Jack’s subsequent violent depression had literally ripped Ianto's heart into shreds.
... He pushed away from the door... wincing and gasping as his body suddenly let him know how much it did not appreciate being beaten, bound and nearly shot... Ianto stared at his hands and wrists... In general his hands looked how he felt – raw, angry and in pain... Bracing himself against the counter, he bowed his head and let out a ragged breath. He closed his eyes fighting to stop the tears that threatened to fall. He hadn’t felt like this since Lisa. Everything hurt. Everything felt wrong. Everything, he thought miserably, had been a lie.
