... Okay, so enough with the deeply profound explanation! *rolls eyes at self and mumbles about being crap at explaining* I LOVE THIS FIC!! It's heartbreaking and emotional and painful all woven together into this piece of WONDROUS writing! With the author's habit of breaking apart the boys... *pointed glare* ... you can more than expect a very angsty ride! It's an immensely intriguing take on the concept of one character retconning another in order to protect them from the evils of the world...
I CAN'T WAIT!! ^^

"Working late?... it must be terribly distracting have me here. What with you retconing us and all."
Jack's head snapped up, looking at Ianto in surprise... "What did you say?"
"You heard me... You're scared, and besides that, what you're doing is incredibly selfish. Honestly Jack, how could you? You've no right." Ianto said, sounding disappointed in the other man.
"I had every right." Jack insisted, looking every bit the petulant child.
"No, you didn't."
"Dammit Ianto! ...I can't lose you!" His voice held a mournful tone to it.
"But don't you see?" Ianto begun softly. "You are... Please!... Please Jack, don't retcon me... i need you.... I love you." His voice no more than a mumble now.
"I know." Jack said, tears welling up in his eyes as he took hold of the other man's hand, pressing his cheek against it. "I love you too."
