Excerpt: Jack stands right on the edge, watching the empty street below. It’s long past midnight – he slept and dreamed hours ago. Terrible, trapped dreams, where he’s searching, always searching, and he has to keep stopping to save the people he loves a little, while the object of his search, the person he really loves, slips beyond his reach again. It’s easy to see where his subconscious is coming from, but it still makes him feel like the whole world’s gone to shit and he has no way out. Tonight he needs more than open space to heal him.
