Comment or Excerpt from fic: Totally Ianto's POV, it shows his feelings about Jack leaving and his inability to let him go and finally his acceptance. It's an emotional fic that shows Ianto's growth as a person and this growth is shown via Ianto's acceptance of Jack only after he proves himself.

Over the few months Jack had been gone, Ianto had learnt a lot about himself, as both a Torchwood employee and a person outside of work... Being left without Jack showed him how strong willed he was. He couldn’t deny how much the knowledge of being left behind had hurt. But after several hours of crying seemingly endless tears, the tiny droplets of salt turned into dust and he knew he was through crying over Jack Harkness.

He wasn’t the first man to be left by a lover, and he knew he wouldn’t be the last. In the days that had followed Ianto had been reminded of a phrase his mother had told... "No man is worth crying over."

The words had stung at the time – being male, they had actually wounded his pride – but years later they seemed to make sense. While they hadn’t been directed at him, the same maxim applied. There was no use crying over someone who wasn’t there to see the tears and realise the pain they had inflicted.

Comment or Excerpt from fic: I was eagerly waiting for another fic from palmface and was delivered with this piece of brilliance! This is AU, as it states previously, with total disregard for TW S3 character speculation. Now that I think about it, I haven't read many post-EW fics that have TW3 recruiting OCs and not the usual characters (Mickey, Martha, maybe Tom)...

Anyway, the POV jumps every alternate chapter in the fic and so far, it's a very interesting fic with almost all genres - humor, action, romance, angst, etc. Exciting and enjoyable!

But before he gets a chance to kill U.N.I.T. in anger, he gets one HELL of a surprise! His trip doesn't look all that boring at all now!

All I can say is that this fic's FUNNY! And CUTE! And ROMANTIC! And just makes me want to swoon!

Spending three days at a large estate in the rolling hills of Scotland would have been ideal under any other circumstances, but being forced to attend a U.N.I.T. conference wasn’t Jack’s idea of a good time... So, a journey for our beloved Janto. When he recovers his senses, Ianto’s arms feel better around him than any have in quite some time. Sensitive fingers stroke his hair. He kisses his way up Ianto’s throat. Smiles down at his new lover.

Ianto kisses him, smiling too. And for a few brief, happy moments there’s no past and no future and no grief and no monsters, just the joy of being right here, right now, together.

It can’t last -- nothing ever does when you outlive everyone -- but Jack decides as he kisses Ianto again that he really doesn’t care. Eventually, the kid will leave and go find the kind of sane, settled life he deserves. Eventually, the Doctor will return and Jack will forgive him for leaving. Eventually, he’ll return to the stars and leave Torchwood in competent hands.

But in the meantime...
