Jack hadn't expected to mind so much, but he found himself becoming increasingly obsessed with thoughts of what Ianto and the Doctor were doing together. It hadn't bothered him at first - in fact, he'd rather enjoyed imagining what the two of them might be up to, in some considerable detail - but after a while the novelty of his voyeuristic fantasies wore off, and he started to get a bit fed up. It wasn't the prospect of Ianto buggering the Doctor over the TARDIS console that bothered him so much as the fact that he could watch or, ideally, join in.
After a week of feeling vaguely annoyed about the whole thing (and absolutely NOT sulking or being jealous, which was just lame twenty-first century behaviour and Jack was above it, thankyouverymuch) Jack decided he had to Do Something. Which was a good start, but what thing to do? Jack gave the matter lengthy consideration (not because he was indecisive, but because he kept getting distracted with images of what Ianto and the Doctor were doing, and whether or not Ianto really was that bendy) and it took him several days to come up with his plan.
It was compete fucking genius, of course.
Jack spent the next week feeling much more cheerful, strutting about the Hub and wrestling weevils, whistling all the while. He was sure Ianto would be back soon (because Ianto had promised him that, without even being asked) and once Jack had put his plan into action, there was no way Ianto was going to go wandering off to have adventures without him. Oh, no.
